Timeline Update:
The Rundle Primary/Elementary School is on track to open for the beginning of the 2016 school year.

Committee Work Focus Items:
Progress on the new school is excellent; a very dynamic site with all trades working towards completion. Our construction team is transitioning into the most intensive period on a build site, as the project is now measured in hours and days vs. weeks and months.

It’s hard to believe, but Friday June 17, 2016 marks the one-year anniversary from when the shovel hit the ground! We are pleased at how dedicated the project team is and how they continue to adapt and push through to deliver results.

Progress on the Society Office concrete work went smoothly. Once the concrete cures, work will commence on the structural steel frame and the building will start to take shape.

General Comments:

Timeline Update:
The Rundle Primary/Elementary School is on track to open for the beginning of the 2016 school year.

Committee Work Focus Items:
As we approach the one year mark from the initial dig back in June of 2015, we are pleased with the advanced progress on the site as we move towards completion. We have been fortunate to have had a mild winter and spring and the crews are taking full advantage of the weather. Curbing and gutters are currently being installed, building systems commissioning work is set to commence this month and asphalt is expected to be underway towards the end of this month.

In addition to the school, the recent construction of the Society office on the south side of the current Jr. Sr. High School is on schedule.

Timeline Update:
The Rundle Primary/Elementary School is on track to open for the beginning of the 2016 school year.

Committee Work Focus Items:
Sitework layout was completed last week and drywalling, curbs and lighting installation is the focus for this week. Skylight materials are on-site and we are looking forward to seeing the temporary tarps removed and light panels installed. The architects at Dialog are putting the finishing touches on final designs that will be the key elements defining the high quality of our school.

General Comments:
We hosted our second fundraising tour of the new school on April 16, 2016 and we were pleased to see so much excitement from both the students and their parents. The new school will be truly remarkable. It will be a priviledge to educate our students in such an inspiring space. Fundraising efforts are underway towards reaching our goal of $1.1 mil to support a playground, Learning Commons and Great Hall furnishings. Please consider donating at www.rundle.ab.ca | support rundle. For more information, please contact Mr. Aaron Goettel, Director of Alumni and Advancement at goettel@rundle.ab.ca.

Timeline Update:
The Rundle Primary/Elementary School is on track to open for the beginning of the 2016 school year.

Committee Work Focus Items:
The gym slab has been poured, which is the last pour within the building footprint itself. Work continues to advance well on the exterior of the building. The contrast of elements and color palette within the school looks fantastic already (and yet there is still a lot of final detailing that will make the building look even sharper when complete).

The curtainwall installation is progressing well with the framing complete in the Great Hall two-story area, leaving just the one-story area at the Learning Commons to be complete. Interior finishes are progressing well with ceiling work underway and tiling commenced.

General Comments:
We will be hosting our second fundraising tour on April 16, 2016. We are confident that are tour guests will be inspired by the space.

To date, we have raised over $71,000 towards our $1.1 million fundraising target to support a playground, Learning Commons and Great Hall furnishings. With your help we can reach our goal and ensure these spaces are complete when we welcome your children into their new school in September. Thank you to all who have already contributed to our campaign.

October 28, 2015

Timeline Update:
There have been no updates to the projected target date of the Primary/Elementary School.

Site Observations:
This past week has seen some days with over 100 contractors on site. The excellent weather has allowed the entire team to work at full capacity. The suspended concrete slab that constitutes the floor of the second level is continually being poured.

Further, the masons have started to erect the school gymnasium. As you drive by the site, the highest scaffolding you see is where the gym will be placed.

Committee Work Focus Items:
Over the course of the last two weeks there have been several meetings to discuss (1) classroom design (2) breakout space design (3) usage of common spaces (4) admissions committee work.

General Comments:
Recently we have determined that we will postpone increased enrollment for Grades 1-3 until we are over 95% certain of our move date. We expect to reach this level of certainty by the end of March, 2016.

With any luck we will have some good weather in the coming weeks and we will see the completion of the suspended slab poor.  This will allow the group to start working on the structure of the second level and some of the interior elements of the lower level.
