COVID-19 Guidelines

Rundle Visitors & Volunteers

As of March 1, 2022

Public health measures in Alberta are being phased out in 3 steps, beginning with lower-risk activities. Alberta will begin Step 2 on March 1, 2022.

These guidelines may change at any time based on direction from Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Alberta Education, or Rundle leadership.

General Guidelines

Routine public health practices can minimize transmission of respiratory infections, including COVID-19, influenza, and common colds. These practices include: getting vaccinated, staying home when sick, proper hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette, enhanced cleaning and disinfecting, and maintaining ventilation systems.

Screening

Before arriving at the school, visitors are expected to self-screen for symptoms each day that they enter the school using the applicable checklist: Adult Alberta Health Daily Checklist.

There is no requirement for verification or the collection and retention of formal records.

Anyone who has symptoms should stay home and use an at-home rapid antigen test if available. For more information refer to the rapid testing at-home website.

Isolation

Any person who tests positive for COVID is required to isolate. Read the provincial  Isolation and quarantine requirements for additional detail.

Masks

Masking remains a personal health choice for visitors.

Fully vaccinated visitors recovering from COVID-19 who are completing their day 6-10 mandatory masking period at school must wear a mask at all times and must not share breaks where masks must be removed to consume food or beverages with non-COVID-19 infected individuals.

Step 3

The timeline for Alberta entering Step 3 is to be determined and will depend on hospitalization rates continuing to trend downward. At that time, COVID-specific continuing care measures will be removed and isolation will become a recommendation only.
