Rundle Academy prides itself on discovering students who are a good fit for our outstanding academic and co-curricular programs. Our program is specifically designed for students who:

• Have a diagnosed learning disability in reading, writing, and/or math.
• Have an average to above-average cognitive profile, and capable of achieving grade-level success with appropriate support and accommodations.
• Are socially well; contributing positively to our school community, eager to engage in co-curricular activities, build friendships, and foster an inclusive, supportive school environment.

All Rundle Academy students are placed on Individual Program Plans (IPPs), which are developed in collaboration with students, parents, and teachers. Based on the Alberta Education Curriculum, our individualized programs empower students to master their difficulties.

Language & Residency Requirements: Applicants must demonstrate grade-appropriate proficiency in all facets of the English language to succeed academically and fully participate in school life. Rundle Academy does not offer English as a Second Language (ESL) or English Language Learner (ELL) programs. We do not provide boarding services; families are responsible for providing necessary documentation to attend an Alberta school.

4-Step Admissions Process

Step 1: Submit an Inquiry & Get to Know Us

• Submit an Admissions Inquiry to get access to on-demand information sessions, and to sign up for a live Q&A session and/or a guided tour with our enrolment team.
  • Once you submit an inquiry, you will receive an email to access our Admissions Portal and event sign-up.
• Take a Virtual Tour and view our online resources.
• Check out our Admissions Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).

Step 2: Submit an Application

Applications open September 9, 2026 for the 2027–28 academic year. Applications completed by November 15, 2026 receive first-round priority consideration. Applications remain open on an ongoing basis, subject to availability.

A student’s academic profile doesn’t tell a child’s whole story. In addition to academic readiness, our application process helps us understand each child’s passions, strengths, and areas for growth through questionnaires, portfolios, and personal interactions.

Follow these steps:

1. Log in to the Admissions Portal.
   • Families new to Rundle must submit an Admissions Inquiry first to create an account on our Admissions Portal
2. Click the “Manage Application Checklist”.
3. Click the “Add a new application” button.
4. Once a new candidate has been added, navigate to the “Admissions Checklist” section.
5. Navigate to the “Ready to Apply” section and click Yes.
6. Complete the checklist items, including submitting a $175 non-refundable application fee.

Note: If your child’s application is waitpooled, you may reapply for the following school year without paying another fee. Please contact the admissions team to update and reapply your application.

Note on Testing: SSAT scores are NOT required. Rundle Academy’s senior high offers both university-track and non-university-track courses.

Step 3: Interview & Student Tour

If Rundle Academy appears to be a good fit for the student’s needs after application review, a pre-admission family interview and student tour will be scheduled with our Enrolment Officer. Interviews and initial offers begin in early January.

Step 4: Admissions Decision

Contract offers are extended to selected candidates directly from the Admissions Office beginning in early January. Because we maintain small class sizes to support our learners, intake numbers are limited each year, and we regrettably cannot offer spots to every qualified student.
