Please know that the deadline for first considerations for Kindergarten at Rundle College is October 9, 2026, and the deadline for all other applicants is November 15, 2026. After these dates, we continue to accept applications, pending availability.

Language & Residency Requirements: Applicants must demonstrate grade-appropriate proficiency in all facets of the English language in order to succeed academically and fully participate in school life. Rundle College does not offer English as a Second Language (ESL) or English Language Learner (ELL) programs. We do not provide boarding services; it is the family’s responsibility to provide necessary documentation to attend an Alberta school.
5-Step Admissions Process
Step 1: Submit an Inquiry & Get to Know Us
At Rundle, character comes first as we strive to create meaningful, lasting relationships. Our admission process aims to do the same. We invite you to get to know us better:
- Submit an Admissions Inquiry to get access to on-demand information sessions, and to sign up for a live Q&A session and/or a guided tour with our enrolment team.
- Once you submit an inquiry, you will receive an email to access our Admissions Portal and event sign-up.

Step 2: Submit an Application
Applications open Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026 for the 2027–28 academic year. Applications completed by November 15, 2026 receive first-round priority consideration. Applications remain open on an ongoing basis subject to availability.
Our students have strong academic profiles, but grades don’t tell a child’s whole story. In addition to academic readiness, our application process helps us understand each child’s passions, strengths, and areas for growth through questionnaires, videos, and personal interactions.
Follow these steps:
- Log in to the Admissions Portal.
- Families new to Rundle must submit an Admissions Inquiry first to create an account on our Admissions Portal
- Click the “Manage Application Checklist”.
- Click the “Add a new application” button.
- Once a new candidate has been added, navigate to the “Admissions Checklist” section.
- Navigate to the “Ready to Apply” section and click Yes.
- Complete the checklist items, including submitting a $175 non-refundable application fee.
Note: If your child’s application is wait pooled, you may reapply for the following school year without paying another fee. Please contact the admissions team to update and reapply your application.
Kindergarten
- Earliest Application: September of the year prior to attendance (applications are not accepted years in advance).
- 2027–28 Eligibility: Children born in 2022 or late 2021.
- Key Dates: Applications open September 9, 2026. Applications completed by October 9, 2026 qualify for first-round considerations.
Grades 1–6
- Key Dates: Applications open September 9, 2026 for the 2027–28 school year. Applications completed by November 15, 2026 qualify for first-round considerations.
- Ongoing Submissions: Applications are accepted throughout the school year, but fall submission is strongly recommended as space is limited.
Grades 7–12
- Key Dates: Applications open September 9, 2026. Applications completed by November 15, 2026 (and SSAT completed by December 1, 2026) qualify for first-round considerations.
- Ongoing Submissions: Applications are accepted throughout the year, but fall submission is recommended.
Step 3: Assessment & Snapshots
Our admissions team carefully reviews each completed application to determine the appropriate evaluation path based on the applicant’s grade level.
Kindergarten: Learning Snapshot
- Attendance is mandatory for admission consideration.
- Children participate in age-appropriate activities that allow the enrolment team to observe school readiness and social interactions.
Grades 1–6: Learning Snapshot
- Attendance is mandatory for admission consideration.
- Evaluates reading, writing, math, and social interactions within a Rundle context.
- Grades 3 & 6: Applicants meeting initial criteria are invited to a Learning Snapshot.
- Grades 1, 2, 4 & 5: Applicants meeting initial criteria are invited to a Learning Snapshot once openings are confirmed.
Grades 7–12: SSAT & Character Skills Snapshot (CSS)
- Required prior to interviews or offers: Prospective students must write the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) and complete the online Character Skills Snapshot (CSS, ~30 mins at home).
- Testing Options: SSAT at Home, Prometric Test Centre, or in-person paper versions.
- Rundle In-Person SSAT Dates: Oct. 10, 2026 (register by Oct. 7) | Nov. 14, 2026 (register by Nov. 11) | Dec. 12, 2026 (register by Dec. 9) | Mar. 13, 2027.
- Note: Applications can be submitted before SSAT completion – simply indicate your scheduled test date on the checklist. Writing by December 1, 2026 qualifies for first-round consideration.
Step 4: Interview
Interviews offer a meaningful opportunity for a personal conversation. Based on program availability, completed applications, and assessments, selected families are invited to an interview to help us get to know your child and family better.
Kindergarten
Typically begin in late November or December.
Grades 3 & 6
Typically begin in December.
Grades 1, 2, 4 & 5
Typically begin in February as openings develop.
Grades 7
Anticipated to begin in early December.
Grades 8-12
Conducted as openings become available, typically between January and June.
Step 5: Admissions Decision
We are excited to extend contract offers to selected candidates. Acceptance to Rundle College is based on a holistic review of the application, requested documentation, assessment/snapshot observations, academic performance, and the personal interview. Because we maintain small class sizes to support our learners, intake numbers are limited each year, and we regrettably cannot offer spots to every qualified student.
