About:
After graduating from Rundle College in 1995, Aaron earned a BSc in Biochemistry with First Class Honours in 1999 and a PhD in 2005 from the University of Calgary, focusing on the human cellular response to radiation exposure. Between 2005 and 2010, he pursued postdoctoral training in advanced microscopy and radiation biology at the Genome Damage and Stability Centre at the University of Sussex (UK), publishing extensively in the field.

In 2011, Aaron established his own laboratory at the University of Calgary’s School of Medicine. By 2014, he was awarded the “Leon Browder Rising Star Award” for his achievements and became an Assistant Professor in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology department.

In 2015, he was named one of Avenue Magazine’s “Top 40 Under 40” and, in 2016, received the University of Calgary’s “Peak Scholar Award” for his work in raising awareness about radon gas health risks in Alberta. Currently, Aaron serves as the Education Director of the Arnie Charbonneau Cancer Institute and is a globally recognized expert on the effects of ionizing radiation on DNA.

About:

Andrew played for 3 years at Rundle College, quarterbacking the team to two Tier 4 Provincial Championships. He continued his football career with the University of Calgary Dinos breaking the CIS single-season passing record in his final year. Andrew’s talents on and off the field earned him two consecutive Russ Jackson Awards for academic achievement, football skill and citizenship and two consecutive Hec Crighton trophies for most outstanding player in the CIS. Andrew also won the 2016 BLG Award as the most outstanding athlete in all of the CIS. In 2015, he was drafted by the Calgary Stampeders and is a quarterback for the team. He plans to pursue a career in medicine following his football career.

About:
Prabh Lail is a General Internal Medicine Specialist (FRCPC) who balances clinical practice with research, focusing on vulnerable populations. During her medical training, Prabh earned numerous accolades, including the Canadian Addiction Medicine Research Award, Best Resident Teaching Award, Resident Leadership Travel Award, and the Health Promotion at the Animal-Human Interface Graduate Research Award.

Her passion for advocacy drives her commitment to supporting those who cannot advocate for themselves. This dedication is reflected in her extensive charity work with organizations like Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Calgary, Inspire Youth Group, and the Manmeet Singh Bhullar Charitable Foundation.

About:
An energetic entrepreneur, Ravinder Minhas launched a private-label liquor importing company with his sister while completing his BSc in Oil and Gas Engineering at the University of Calgary. He later devoted himself to the industry full-time, building a vast portfolio of products with annual revenues exceeding $200 million within a decade. Today, their ventures include the 10th-largest brewery in the United States, the multimedia company Spotlight Productions, and Shergill Homes, a thriving construction firm in Fort McMurray.

Ravinder is an active community member, serving on the Calgary Stampede Committee and the Beakerhead Board. His accolades include Avenue Magazine’s “Top 40 Under 40,” the Graduate of the Last Decade Award from the University of Calgary, and the FASD Recognition Award.

About:

Safiqa started her career as a nurse working in rural communities in southern Alberta and First Nations’ communities in Northern Ontario. After obtaining her master’s degree, she started her career in international development with the International Organization for Migration in Nepal, where she developed and implemented a project to identify barriers to health-seeking behavior for TB symptoms in Bhutanese refugee camps. She then moved to Khorog, Tajikistan where she worked in the Monitoring and Evaluation Department for Aga Khan Foundation Tajikistan and Aga Khan Health Services Tajikistan. Since 2015, she has been the Clinical Service Manager where she oversees the operations, and service delivery of three clinical centres across Tajikistan. The centres serve over 75,000 patients.

About: 

After graduating from Rundle College, Wesley, under his music stage name Wes Mack, has released four Top 20 hits on the Billboard Country Chart, including two Top 10s. He has toured across Canada, opening for Shania Twain on her Rock This Country Tour, performing her hit “Party for Two” each night as a duet. He has also been nominated for eight Canadian Country Music Association awards, including winning the Discovery Award. As an actor, Wesley has had many roles in movies and television. Some of his film credits include Power Rangers, The 100, Supernatural, Smallville, iZombie, Heartland, Motive, and The Vampire Diaries. Behind the camera as a director, Wesley has directed eleven music videos and has been nominated for Video of the Year and Director of the Year at the CCMAs, CCMAs, and Leo Awards.

Reflecting on her time at Rundle College, Amanda shares: “The nine years I spent at Rundle College forever sit among the most enjoyable and formative times of my life. I’m of the opinion education is far less about the content you absorb and more about learning how to learn, finding what you are passionate about, interacting with other people, and discovering how to face challenges in life; these are the lessons that will define you and will govern what you give and take from the world. In all of these areas I feel I gained a great deal from Rundle. For me, Rundle was a place to explore a variety of interests. It pushed me in ways that have recurrently helped me in my life. I am grateful to have spent these nine years in a school that prepared me as best as anyone can hope to be.”
