Rundle Academy

Grade 4 – Grade 12

Unique among independent schools in Canada, Rundle delivers parallel College and Academy programs on two separate campuses. The Academy program meets the needs of students who have a diagnosed learning disability, with or without ADHD. Our students are in the average to above-average range of intellectual functioning but have difficulties with specific academic activities and skills.

Rundle Academy is a caring learning community where students have the space to develop confidence, self-esteem and motivation to excel academically and grow in their love for learning.

In September 2026, we will open our doors to an expanded Rundle Academy building. When the project is complete, 175 more students with diagnosed learning disabilities will have access to our tailored and specialized education.

Rundle Studio provides:

  • a dynamic, interactive online learning environment for students in grades 7–12
  • a learning space built to help students with diagnosed learning disabilities thrive
  • a program designed to meet personal learning styles

Students Giving Back: Maya B.’s Global Impact

At a time when high school students are busy with final exam studying, co-curricular pursuits, and navigating their personal lives, Rundle College’s Maya B. has used her spare time and efforts to support a nationwide charge against global poverty—and get youth from all over Calgary involved. 

By building her team, YouthofCalgary, to walk in this year’s World Partnership Walk (WPW), Maya and fellow teenagers have raised $9,365 of their $10,000 goal to support those in need.

“I have been involved in the World Partnership Walk since I was little. When I was younger, we used to live in Ontario, and my family and I would walk at the events every year. When I heard that the World Partnership Walk was coming to Calgary, I knew I wanted to start a team,” says Maya, a Grade 11 student. “I came up with the idea of YouthofCalgary, a team for youth all around Calgary to unite and join the fight against global poverty.” 

Since its inception in 1985, the WPW has worked with the goal of bringing Canadians together to walk in support of fighting poverty worldwide. Today, it has grown into an annual event, held in 10 cities across Canada. The WPW provides the opportunity to create a team of individuals to walk and raise money for their cause—an opportunity Maya sought to take.

“Many Rundle students are on the YouthofCalgary WPW team,” Maya shared. “I believe that it has strengthened all our feelings of being part of the Rundle community.” 

For Maya, philanthropy is not just about volunteering; it’s about fueling her determination to be impactful in helping her community in any way she can, and her work with the WPW has well exceeded this goal. 

“Volunteering for the World Partnership Walk truly makes me feel impactful and part of my community,” she shared. “I love watching my friends and peers, all with different interests and coming from different parts of the city, unite with the common goal of fighting against global poverty.”
